Open Window: Why Regular Home Checks Matter

Yesterday, during a routine property check, I found an open window in an upstairs bedroom. Beautiful home—but unfortunately, the window latch wasn't up to the same standard. Thankfully, no squirrels, birds, or raccoons had taken up residence!

I sent photos to the homeowners right away, and they were incredibly grateful. But imagine if no one had caught it…

An open window can invite all sorts of uninvited guests—bugs, birds, bats, and small animals—that can cause serious interior damage. Add in the risk of rain, wind, or even a sudden cold snap, and the potential repair bill could easily climb into the thousands.

This is exactly why a reliable Homewatch service is so valuable. We don’t just check the boxes—we proactively look for things homeowners might never notice until it’s too late.

Peace of mind is just a visit away.
