Inspect the following:
Exterior and interior signs of vandalism and trespassing 
Security and functioning of any window locks and door locks
Visible water damage, and leaks
Evidence of unwanted pests
Test water fixtures
Periodically turn lights on and off
Collect mail, newspapers or packages
Ensure the appliances, heater and water heater are in working condition
Take photos and send email after inspection.
